​Intl grand prix to kick off in Xi'an

The International Skating Union (ISU) Figure Skating Junior Grand Prix Xi'an 2026 will take place at Xi'an's Qujiang Sports Complex from Aug 20 to 22. Tickets are on sale now.

Established in 1997, the Junior Grand Prix is the top‑level international event for young skaters. Known as "the cradle of future stars", it has served as the launching pad for numerous Olympic and world champions embarking on their competitive careers internationally.

This marks China's third time hosting a stage of this series. It is also the first time the event has come to a western Chinese city. The Xi'an leg features four disciplines: men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and an ice dance. A total of 118 top junior skaters from more than 30 countries and regions will compete here to kick off the new season.

For spectators, the city's integrated "ticket economy" will deliver a cultural‑tourism‑sports urban experience beyond the competition itself.

According to the event's organizing committee, the competition has cooperated with commercial complexes, tourist attractions, and catering businesses across the province.
