An intangible cultural heritage (ICH) exhibition from Russia's Vologda Oblast opened in Xi'an on Aug 7, giving residents the chance to experience authentic northern Russian folk customs.
The exhibition displays over 100 ICH exhibits highlighting Russian artisans' wisdom and craftsmanship. It features traditional folk arts such as wood carvings, ethnic musical instruments, and painted porcelain, providing a comprehensive glimpse of Russia's diverse regional cultures.
In November 2025, Shaanxi province and Vologda Oblast established friendly relations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in culture, tourism, and sports. In June, 111 fine ICH works from Shaanxi, representing Chinese culture, went on permanent display in Vologda, earning wide acclaim among local residents.
The Xi'an exhibition will stay open to the public for an extended period at no cost. It establishes a two-way cultural exchange channel, strengthening the basis for ongoing exchanges and collaboration between the two sides.
