Jinan hosts Lao travel delegation to boost tourism ties

Jinan welcomed a group of Lao travel industry representatives on Aug 4 for a firsthand look at its tourism offerings, as the city seeks to deepen cultural and tourism cooperation with Laos and tap into the Southeast Asian inbound tourism market.

The visitors explored Jinan's spring culture and historic neighborhoods through a series of immersive experiences. At Mingshui Ancient Town, they walked along stone-paved streets, enjoyed the cool waters of a natural spring area and visited poet Li Qingzhao's (1084–1155) former residence.

A boat ride along Black Tiger Spring, the city moat, and Daming Lake offered stunning views of the city's springs and waterways. At Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block and Qushuiting street, the delegation explored traditional neighborhoods shaped by the city's springs.

The group also experienced Night Painting of Baotu Spring, a nighttime show that combines modern lighting technology with traditional gardens and the city's springs.

The visitors said they would work with local travel agencies to develop customized itineraries based on travel preferences in Laos and promote Jinan through their tourism networks and social media platforms.

The delegation included representatives from the China Cultural Center in Laos, Laos' Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and the Lao national tourism association, along with travel agents and social media influencers.
