Sixteen foreign diplomats representing 15 countries, including Cape Verde, Spain, and Croatia, visited Xi'an from July 26 to 30 as part of the 2026 Shaanxi Trip for Diplomats in China, exploring prospects for economic trade and cultural cooperation between China and foreign countries through in-depth dialogues.

The diplomats visited the General Association of Shaanxi Enterprises, where they learned about the millennia-old heritage of Shaanxi merchants and the global industrial layout of Shaanxi enterprises in the new era. Several core enterprises from provincial industrial chains presented their experience of overseas investment, showcasing flagship products, cutting-edge technologies, and customized cross-border cooperation solutions in detail.

At the Grand Tang Mall, the diplomats enjoyed immersive Tang Dynasty (618–907) cultural displays, watching folk performances, experiencing traditional crafts, and catching a close-up glimpse of bustling street scenes.

"This place is absolutely enchanting, especially at night," said Vanessa Tsin-Jie Li, ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to China. "It is this joyful vibe of daily life that touches people's hearts the most."

The diplomats were then deeply moved by inspiring stories at the Xi'an Model Worker Spirit Exhibition Hall on July 3, where 94 physical exhibits and more than 130 multimedia materials chronicle the journeys of 104 model workers and 15 advanced collectives.

At the Xi'an Federation of Trade Unions, the diplomats experienced the traditional woodblock printing. They said they are interested in Chinese culture and will tell Chinese stories to the world.
