Yangzhou zoo keeps animals cool

As temperatures continue to climb, Zhuyuwan Scenic Area in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has rolled out cooling measures to help its animals beat the heat throughout the scorching summer.

Ice blocks have been placed across multiple enclosures, including those of brown bears, capybaras, prairie dogs, and meerkats, offering a simple yet effective way to bring down temperatures. Iced fruit and vegetable treats are also provided for the animals.

At the giraffe enclosure, a misting system runs throughout the day, releasing a fine spray of water that keeps the area cool and foggy.

In the tiger enclosure, three cubs receive gentle daily baths to help them cool down.

And giant pandas enjoy round-the-clock air conditioning in their indoor spaces, kept at a constant temperature of 24 degrees Celsius.
