Watch: Villagers in Xinjiang host desert cowpea fashion show

Villagers in Yigeziduwei village in the Aoyituogelake township of Yutian county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, recently put on a cowpea fashion show. The village sits on the edge of the Taklimakan Desert, where it now grows 0.67 hectares of cowpeas under arched sheds. In recent years, it has relied on greenhouse facilities to develop vegetable farming and help villagers broaden their sources of income.
