The 10th China National Model United Nations (UN) Conference for High School students convened in Xi'an on July 28, attracting more than 500 teachers and students from 70 schools nationwide.
The conference features nine committees including the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, the World Health Organization, and the Main Press Center, with agenda items addressing key global issues.
Delegates will hold in‑depth discussions on relevant topics, simulate multilateral diplomatic practices, and sharpen cross‑cultural communication skills amid intellectual exchanges, building competence in global governance.
The conference will also include practical activities, such as the annual session of the Model UN Conference, exchange events, and study tours featuring Xi'an's history and culture.
Ma Jiajun, secretary‑general of the Model UN Association, expressed his hope that young delegates would gain insights into international affairs and appreciate the unique appeal of diplomacy through this conference. He urged them to connect their personal goals with the country's progress and showcase the responsibility of Chinese youth through wisdom and concrete actions.
