This is not a lotus-shaped lantern, but a 1,000-year-old incense burner. Resembling a blossoming lotus with three layers of delicate petals, this late Tang Dynasty (618-907) Qiong kiln ware was glazed with yellow and green. Each petal is decorated with a molded apsara holding a Bodhi branch, a reflection of Buddhist-inspired artistry. Collection: Chengdu Museum.
