Global call for OVC intl entrepreneurship competition

The 2026 Optics Valley of China (OVC) 3551 International Entrepreneurship Competition is now open for applications from June 12 to July 31. Under the theme "Gather in OVC, Create the Future", the competition will offer robust support across funding, opportunities, and services.

A total prize pool of 12.5 million yuan ($1.84 million) is on offer, with the "Top 10" winners each receiving a direct prize of 1 million yuan and immediate recognition as "3551 Entrepreneurial Talent".

A standout feature this year is cooperation with the Optics Valley Sci-Tech Seed Fund, enabling immediate investment decisions during project presentations. Each selected project will receive 1 million yuan in equity investment on the spot, ensuring that outstanding projects secure their initial funding without delay.

A shift away from traditional closed-door evaluations will empower market leaders and enterprises to assess projects, with winners not only earning prize money but also gaining direct entry into the supply chains of leading companies, facilitating resource integration and market access.

The competition will also offer travel subsidies to support teams from outside Wuhan, enabling them to visit OVC at no cost. Participants will also receive a year of free financial and tax services, along with comprehensive entrepreneurial training to enhance their chances of success.
