Hangzhou-made motorcycle joins global 300 km/h club

Riders Du Bang and Huang Shizhao tested the V4 SR-RR, a high-performance motorcycle independently developed by Hangzhou-based company CFMOTO, at the China Automotive Proving Ground in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, on June 15.

Both riders surpassed 300 kilometers per hour, with Du reaching a GPS-recorded top speed of 315.82 km/h.

Witnessed by the National Motorcycle Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Hangzhou Notary Office, the achievement set a new record for Chinese-made production motorcycles and made China the fourth country after Japan, Germany and Italy to break the 300 km/h barrier.

The achievement is considered a major technical benchmark in the motorcycle industry. Unlike modified racing bikes, production models must balance engine power, cooling systems, aerodynamics and stability for everyday use.

The V4 SR-RR is powered by CFMOTO's self-developed 997cc V4 liquid-cooled engine, delivering 157 kW of power and a maximum speed of 15,000 rpm.

The breakthrough highlights Zhejiang province's growing strength in high-end manufacturing.
