China-Vietnam tourism cooperation year: Vietnamese journalists visit Fujian

A delegation of 16 journalists from major Vietnamese media outlets visited Fujian province from June 8 to 12, touring sites related to environmental management, technology, private sector development, and community governance in Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Fuzhou.

The delegation, which included representatives from Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Vietnam News Agency, and Vietnam Television, made the trip at the invitation of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam. The visit was part of people-to-people exchanges under the China-Vietnam tourism cooperation year for 2026-2027.

Among the stops was Yundang Lake in Xiamen, where officials outlined a long-running environmental rehabilitation program that included wastewater treatment, dredging, and water-quality improvements. Vietnamese journalists said the program could offer lessons for managing urban lakes in Vietnam.

The group also visited sportswear manufacturer Anta Group and learned about the "Jinjiang Experience", a framework emphasizing commitment to the real economy, market-oriented growth, industrial upgrading, entrepreneurial resilience, and government support tailored to local conditions. Vietnamese journalists said the experience could provide valuable insights for Vietnam's economic development and industrial modernization.

In Fuzhou, the delegation visited Cangxia Community to learn about urban renewal and community services. They also toured facilities operated by Fujian Media Group, where the two sides discussed media integration, international communication, and potential content cooperation. Vietnamese journalists said the media can help foster mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries and expressed support for closer cooperation between media organizations.
