A delegation of 22 officials from Indian Ocean countries visited Fujian province from June 9 to 12 as part of a training program on green development and blue economy cooperation.

The program, organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), featured participants from government agencies responsible for finance, agriculture, fisheries, and tourism in countries such as the Comoros, Egypt, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka.

The delegation visited Fuzhou and Xiamen to learn about Fujian's experiences in marine industry development, environmental protection, and maritime cooperation projects.

In Fuzhou, they received briefings on digital trade and smart port development at the Minjiang Digital Trade Corridor and Fujian Port Group, then met with representatives of Fujian Haiwenming Marine Technology Development to discuss supply chains and potential cooperation in raw material sourcing.

In Xiamen, the delegation reviewed marine economy initiatives and digital shipping services at the Xiamen Marine Economy Public Service Center and the Silk Road Maritime Management Center, then visited Yundang Lake and Wuyuan Bay to learn about environmental restoration and coastal management projects.

The visit concluded with a tour of Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its historic architecture.
