The nuclear power plant electrical equipment pilot base of Shandong Taikai Apparatus Complete Co Ltd was approved last year, marking a breakthrough for Tai'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone in creating a provincial-level pilot base for transforming scientific and technological achievements. This milestone connects the critical path from laboratory research to industrialization in the power transmission industry.

In March, a high-level graphene innovation base was launched in Tai'an high-tech zone, providing strong momentum for the advanced materials industry. These achievements result from the zone's consistent and pragmatic efforts. From precise robotic operations in workshops to the steady flow of data in laboratories, an industrial upgrade driven by sci-tech innovation is fully underway in Tai'an high-tech zone.

As one of the main hubs for sci-tech innovation and industrial development in Tai'an, the zone is focused on building a high-level innovation platform matrix. It combines systematic planning with forward-looking investments. Beyond existing provincial platforms, it actively seeks national resources and connects with external innovation forces, achieving widespread breakthroughs.

The zone offers targeted services to efficiently link universities inside and outside the province with enterprises, promoting in-depth collaboration between industry and academia. It has facilitated partnerships between Qingdao University and LIBO Heavy Industries Science & Technology Co Ltd, enhanced cooperation with Jewim Pharma and Taibang Biologic Group in project applications and technological advancements, and expanded research collaboration with Mengniu Dairy. Additionally, the zone has partnered with Shandong Agricultural University on graphene projects and reached an agreement with Shandong University of Finance and Economics on talent development.

To overcome obstacles in the transformation of sci-tech achievements, the zone has introduced an implementation plan for a results transformation cultivation system. This establishes a four-tier incubation framework from university and research institution innovation bases to incubators, accelerators, and industrial parks. It also offers rent reductions, financing support, and a dedicated 5-million-yuan ($737,995) fund to help achievements move from labs to production lines.

As the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30) period begins, Tai'an high-tech zone continues its dedicated path toward new industrialization, driven by sci-tech innovation and focused on industrial upgrades.
