Hohhot CBZ sees strong industrial development

Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ) is becoming an important hub for trade and economic cooperation with countries to the north.

Belt Border Technology Co operates a global smart manufacturing demonstration factory, where intelligent visual sorting machines are able to detect more than 40 types of flaws as small as 0.1 millimeters. Thanks to the technology, production speeds doubled to 12 items per second, yielding 6 million wooden utensils and 65 million ice cream sticks daily. 

Product qualification rates surged from 92 percent to 99 percent, while labor costs dropped to one-tenth of traditional models. Using renewable birch wood, the company has built a green circular industrial chain. Products are exported to more than 40 countries, with partnerships established with Yili and Mengniu.

Shangming (Inner Mongolia) Automobile Co has established a complete vehicle modification chain with an annual capacity of 420 units, R&D capabilities, an annual output value of 280 million yuan ($41.27 million), and an export value of 120 million yuan. Through China-Europe Railway Express and road transport, products are shipped to Mongolia, Russia, and Kazakhstan. 

In 2025, the company obtained new vehicle export qualifications. It is now applying for national-level vehicle modification certification. The establishment of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone will streamline export procedures and boost confidence.

Inner Mongolia Fangniutong Food Co developed new beef crisp products using low-temperature circulating hot air baking technology. With five production lines, daily capacity is now 40,000 cans, with 1,600 metric tons of beef processed annually and a projected annual output of 240 million yuan.
