On Monday, the original Peking Opera Hanyang Made premiered in Wuhan, Hubei province. Produced by the Hubei Peking Opera Theatre, the production tells the story of the founding of the Hubei Arsenal and the development of the famous Hanyang rifle in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Through compelling performances, it highlights the determination and innovation that shaped China’s early modern military industry.
