With a capacity of 400 megawatts/2,400 megawatt-hours, the station is equipped with Huawei's intelligent string grid-forming PCS and Hyper Strong's leading 7-MWh large-capacity single-container energy storage system, boosting the development of a new power system in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The project was connected to the grid at the end of December 2025 and has been operating stably ever since. It has achieved a single-day discharge volume of over 2 million kilowatt-hours, with a grid connection operating efficiency of more than 90 percent, providing a reliable power grid stabilizer for heavy industries including Baotou's iron and steel and equipment manufacturing industries.
Baotou is China's leading base for wind and photovoltaic power. The annual effective utilization hours of wind and solar resources here exceed 3,000, and the installed capacity of new energy accounts for more than 50 percent of the national total. The station helps address two key challenges: reducing wasted wind and solar power and ensuring a stable electricity supply for industrial users. It can transmit an additional 1 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity each year.

The partnership between Hyper Strong and Huawei marks the first time that intelligent string-type grid-forming energy storage technology has been applied at scale, driving the energy storage industry into a new phase of diversified profitability and high-quality development.
