A map illustrating the planting areas, main varieties and market availability times of the major lychee-producing counties and cities across Guangdong province was unveiled on Wednesday, in a bid to promote sales of the typical summer fruit.
The map also accurately marks the number of delivery points in each production region. By scanning the QR code on the map, consumers can access a list of 100 large-scale planting entities across the province, facilitating precise production and sales matching.
"We are making efforts such as conducting special promotions and production-sales matching, organizing suppliers to enter sales regions, and inviting buyers to visit orchards to promote sales of lychee," said Wang Zaihua, secretary of the Communist Party Leadership Group of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Wang made the remarks during a lychee carnival held in Guangzhou, the provincial capital city, on Wednesday.
"We are also making efforts to expand exports of lychee, promoting the fruit produced in Guangdong to the international market," said Wang.
