Ordos Grand Prix roars back with public engagement

The 45th "Derong Cup" Ordos Grand Prix revved into action in Ordos' Kangbashi district from May 16 to 17, delivering two days of high-intensity racing across multiple disciplines.

The event brought together four major competitions, including the Inner Mongolia Motorcycle Championship, the Ordos Touring Car Challenge, and the Ordos Auto & Motorcycle League, forming a layered and dynamic motorsport showcase.

The most eye-catching competition was the Ordos Auto & Motorcycle League, where 10 local teams from Ordos' seven banners and two districts competed under a new formation model.

Some teams were led by local auto-motor associations, while others were represented by leading tourism destinations such as Xilintala Grassland Tourism Resort, Subohan Grassland Scenic Area, and Jiuchenggong Grassland Manhan Cultural Tourism Zone.

Alongside the races, the "517" Safe and Civilized Riding Day campaign expanded this year from traditional motorcycle parades to include delivery riders and courier workers. A hydrogen-powered shared bicycle experience race was also introduced for the first time, turning the initiative into a broader public welfare campaign promoting safe mobility.

Off the track, the atmosphere remained lively with modified car exhibitions, food festivals, and the appearance of popular domestic motorcycle brands such as "Zhang Xue Motorcycles", offering audiences both visual excitement and lifestyle experiences.
