Launched as a key project under the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the mineral express connects coastal shipping with inland industrial bases. It streamlines the movement of silver concentrate, zinc ingots and other mineral products between Beibu Gulf Port and Nandan, shortening logistics cycles and cutting costs.
The service has strengthened supply chain stability for local enterprises. By integrating port, railway and customs procedures, the route has improved cargo clearance efficiency and boosted steady production and export operations in Nandan's critical metals industrial cluster.
Local authorities continue to upgrade logistics infrastructure to match industrial demand. Plans include building a dedicated railway spur and a modern logistics park in Nandan, which would strengthen the industrial logistics chain and enhance the competitiveness of Hechi’s mineral processing sector.
The 40,000 TEU milestone highlights the corridor's contribution to regional economic development. It also positions Beibu Gulf Port as an important gateway for metal mineral trade and reinforces Hechi's status as a major hub for critical metals processing in southern China.
