The IP Eurasia in China roadshow was held on Wednesday in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The roadshow aims to help Chinese companies strengthen overseas intellectual property protection and better understand the Eurasian patent system.

The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), headquartered in Moscow, grants unified patents valid across its eight member states, which are Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Chinese businesses increasingly prioritize overseas patents, integrating planning into early R&D.

Qin Fanying of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group, which is expanding into Eurasia, said the roadshow clarified application processes and advantages.

"Leveraging patents reduces overseas risks for our company," she said, adding that Yuchai holds two Eurasian patents with plans to file more.

Emil Mammadov, EAPO president's counsel, said the organization values cooperation with China, having held roadshows in the north of the country before choosing Guangxi to reach southern enterprises.

Supported by China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and co-hosted by Guangxi Intellectual Property Office and EAPO, the event drew more than 150 representatives from enterprises, universities and IP agencies.
