Exploring Guangxi's rural education via Dahua's DNA

The 2026 "Looking China Youth Film Project · Guangxi" has concluded. The project saw young directors from seven countries travel across Guangxi, documenting local landscapes and stories with global vision and unique artistic perspectives.

Featured film Dahua's DNA focuses on rural education and life science. It follows Chen Siling, a 23-year-old biology teacher committed to teaching at Dahua High School.

Centered on real classroom scenes and daily teacher-student interactions, the film seeks to connect biology with the meaning of life.

Facing limited rural schooling conditions, teachers and students stay positive and forge ahead. Through meticulously filmed footage, the director explores the power of education and the inspiring growth of rural youngsters.
