During the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, Tai'an in East China's Shandong province welcomed more than 1.77 million visits to its 26 monitored scenic spots, up 4.27 percent from last year. Total tourism revenue reached nearly 68.2 million yuan ($10 million), reflecting a 9.34 percent increase, with ticket revenue rising by 14.02 percent to 47.42 million yuan.

The Taishan Mountain scenic area alone saw 334,100 climbers, up 5.43 percent, generating 27.58 million yuan in ticket revenue, an increase of 3.45 percent.

The city ranked second among China's top historical destinations on Ctrip's May Day list, while Taishan Mountain secured first place among domestic historical attractions and third among the nation's most aesthetic locations.

To enhance the visitor experience, Tai'an organized 97 cultural events and 46 tourism welfare programs. Highlights included a national flag-raising ceremony atop Taishan Mountain at sunrise, attracting tens of thousands of attendees who shared their best wishes for the nation. A Youth Day singing gala and a summer music season occurred during the holiday, while the Taishan Shigandang Scenic Area featured musical performances, equestrian combat displays, and interactive storytelling.

Local businesses also offered travel incentives, including ticket discounts, hotel benefits, and shopping deals through joint ticket stub programs, effectively boosting holiday consumption. The vibrant activities and strategic planning made Tai'an an outstanding choice for travelers seeking culture and entertainment.
