Yantai's tourist bus network receives a major upgrade starting May 1, with three new routes designed to take visitors directly to the city's top coastal attractions.
Yangma Island "crystal sea" line
Departing from the North Square of Yantai Railway Station at 9 and 9:30 am daily, this route goes straight to Yangma Island. On the return, it stops at six key sites: Fisherman’s Wharf, Moon Bay, Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street, and Suochengli Block. Tickets are 69.9 yuan ($9.60) per person. The route operates daily during the May Day holiday, on weekends through June, and daily from July onward.
East & west coastal lines
The upgraded eastern coastal line and the new western coastal line operate as a loop from the railway station. A day pass provides unlimited hop-on, hop-off access to both lines.
The east line passes through Chefoo Bay, Chaoyang Street, Changyu Wine Museum, Yantai University Beach, and the popular food street. The west line covers Golden Beach, Tianma Pier, and Chateau Changyu-Castel, where a wine-tasting activity is available.
Buses run from 9 am to 5 pm daily. Day passes start at 39.9 yuan for a single person and 69.9 yuan for two people (discounts apply until April 30). Service runs daily during the holiday and will resume on June 1 for daily operation.
