Guilin in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region recently concluded its first Rice Noodle Super League, a unique event that focus on rice noodle culture. It is the first of its kind in China, bringing together nearly 100 teams from across the nation together to compete.

The event combined culinary competition, cultural heritage exhibitions and tourism experiences, offering a vibrant springtime feast for citizens and visitors alike. Highlighting both traditional craftsmanship and creative innovation, it showcased a blend of northern and southern flavors with ASEAN influences, establishing the brand "Noodles Gather in Guilin, Aroma Spreads Worldwide."

This groundbreaking competition awarded six categories of accolades, including the prestigious Special Gold, Gold, and Silver prizes.
Zhang Wei, secretary-general of a branch of the World Federation of the Chinese Catering Industry, praised the event for its standout features and significant achievements, saying the competition successfully launched China's first professional rice noodle event brand.

The competition was well-organized and professional, clearly delineating between classic flavors and innovative creations, showcasing the heritage and creativity of rice noodle techniques, Zhang said.
Wang Jianyu, a chef from Guilin Ronghu Lake Hotel, which won the Special Gold award, said that the hotel's rice noodles are not only a staple at state banquets but also a key cultural showcase for guests. Their entry highlighted the classic flavor of Guilin marinated noodles, emphasizing "dry mixing and rich marinade", earning widespread acclaim.
