The 2026 Asian Judo Championships drew to a close on April 19 in Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as the mixed team final delivered a dramatic ending to the four-day tournament.
Featuring Asia's top judo teams, the mixed team event tested the athletes' individual skill and collective strength. Mongolia secured the gold medal, while Kazakhstan took silver. Bronze medals were awarded to Kyrgyzstan and South Korea.
The championships brought together teams from 21 countries and regions, providing a high-level platform for competition and exchange. Host China fielded 18 athletes and finished with a total of two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals.
"Watching the championships at home was truly inspiring. I hope to learn from them and compete on a bigger stage in the future," said Lyu Yanjie, a wrestler from an Ordos sports school.
