Based in Hechi, Guangxi's "Hometown of Non-ferrous Metals", Guangxi Modern Polytechnic College has become a vocational education benchmark for ethnic and old revolutionary areas, centering on critical metals and intelligent metallurgy.
Its flagship major – Intelligent Non-ferrous Metals Metallurgy – ranks 4th nationwide and top in Guangxi. The college's critical metals major group, the only one of its kind in the region, has won central financial support on two occasions.

The college has invested over 500 million yuan ($69.20 million) in eight national-level training platforms, building a practical system integrating on-campus training, enterprise internships and digital simulation.
In three years, the college has trained more than 1,500 technical talents for Guangxi's metallurgy industry, with 90 percent of graduates working in the region's key industrial parks.
It has also forged deep school-enterprise cooperation, establishing Guangxi's only non-ferrous metals industry college and developing the first unmanned production line for local firms, with 36 tech transformations creating over 150 million yuan in economic benefits.
The college boasts 95 percent digital teaching coverage and is deepening ASEAN vocational education exchanges. It was named an advanced collective for the reform and innovation of the Guangxi autonomous region in 2025, powering the region's high-quality development and rural vitalization through talent cultivation.
