Fusion and environmental dance stood as a core focus of the festival. The dances were creatively presented, set against the background of the natural, ecological and cultural landscape of the ancient town. Dancers turned the waterways, stone roads, ancient bridges and homes into stages, offering local residents and visitors a variety of contemporary, classical, folk, ballet and street dances.
Thousands of visitors flooded into Xinshi ancient town for the five-day celebration, including scholars, experts, dancers, crossover artists and dance enthusiasts from across the world.
