The Sun Tower in Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area in East China's Shandong province has gained international recognition from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, receiving the 2025 Award of Excellence for "Best Tall Building under 100 Meters".
The award highlights the tower's innovative design and its contribution to the public realm. Since its opening in September 2024, the tower has become a significant cultural landmark, utilizing ancient calendric principles to create unique light phenomena during solstices.
It has already attracted over one million visitors.
The building includes multi-functional spaces, such as an outdoor theater and a sky library, and has hosted over 40 cultural events. Its success highlights the area's commitment to high-quality urban development.
