The Yecheng site, located in today's Linzhang county in Handan, Hebei, was once the capital of six ancient dynasties. Archaeologists have recently made new discoveries here.
They've uncovered the inner enclosure of palace walls and the layout of palace courtyards from the Eastern Wei (534-550) and Northern Qi (550-577) dynasties. Magnificent palace structures, high-grade architectural materials and court utensils have been unearthed. These finds are key to understanding Yecheng's ancient palace architecture, construction techniques and city range.
