Former steel plant transforms into unique Chongqing museum

The Chongqing Industrial Museum, located in Dadukou district of Chongqing, has evolved from the remnants of an old iron and steel company and has emerged as a popular tourist destination with a unique industrial style. [Photo by Zhong Ge/For chinadaily.com.cn]

For environmental concerns, in 2006, the local government relocated the factory from Dadukou to the city's suburban district of Changshou. In 2011, the production lines in Dadukou of Chongqing Iron and Steel Group were completely shut down.
