The revival of the inaugural Wenhua award-winning Ganju Opera, A Tale of the Hairpin, was staged at the Honggutan Grand Theater in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, on Aug 23. The production weaves the intricate love story of scholar Wang Shipeng and his beloved Qian Yulian, showcasing unwavering devotion through challenges.
Prevailing in Jiangxi province, the Ganju opera was selected as an example of national intangible cultural heritage in 2011.
