In 1996, the discovery of more than 600 Buddhist statues dating from the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) to the Song Dynasty (960-1279) at the Longxing Temple in Qingzhou, Shandong province captured the country’s attention.
On July 1, an exhibit on Qingzhou Longxing Temple Buddhist statues will be launched at the Suzhou Museum West. More than 40 statues will be on display, presenting the charm of ancient stone carving. The exhibit will run through Oct 8.
