Factory rushes to fill dragon boat orders

Dragon boat manufacturers in the Panyu district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, are racing against time to fulfill their orders, which have grown over last year.
Long Chuan Shi Jia, one of the factories in the century-old dragon boat cluster in Shangjiao village, received orders before Spring Festival and started working on them on Jan 29, a week earlier than last year, said Huang Jianting, the head of the factory.
Ten workers, including Huang, are processing the orders, which came from parts of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong and include six new boats and the renovation of 20 others.
