Produced by the National Academy of Chinese Theater Arts, the Cantonese Opera piece Date of Return was staged at the Guangzhou Yueju Opera Museum Theater on June 24. The production praises Guangdong’s tenacious left-behind women who are supporting their families while their husbands worked overseas in the 1930s.
