Ancient wooden slips a cultural treasure of Inner Mongolia

Since 1930, more than 30,000 Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) wooden slips have been discovered in three batches in Juyan, a military post established in the 2nd century BC in today's Ejine Banner of Inner Mongolia. The Juyan slips, inscribed with writs, accounts, letters and classic books, chronicled the history between the 2nd century BC and AD 3rd century.
Among the unearthed slips, over 500 are kept in the Ejine Banner Museum. They are a cultural repository of the Ejine Banner.
