Though Zeng has always prioritized scientific accuracy, the aesthetic style of his paintings have nevertheless been evolving, as evidenced by the use of various materials, watercolor, gouache and toner.
“It’s not easy to continue working in my 80s. I am taking time by the forelock and depicting flora and fauna as much as possible,” he said.
