The Li Yu Drama Academy in Lanxi city, East China’s Zhejiang province, presented a gala featuring classical Wuju Opera repertoire. A signature performance originating from Lanxi, the Wuju Opera dramatized six folk tunes and was inscribed on the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2008.
Lanxi is the hometown of Li Yu (1611-80), the great Chinese dramatist in the 17th century.
