The Quju Opera The Snuff Bottle was staged at the Tianqiao Theater on Feb 14. It depicts the tortuous fate of a snuff bottle maker and his family in Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) with a statement on national integrity and patriotism.
Unique to the Beijing area, the Quju Opera highlights the local language features and danxian music (storytelling to musical accompaniment).
