Flourishing in today’s Zhejiang province during the Neolithic Age, the Shangshan Culture is of great archaeological importance. An exhibition on this culture opened at the National Museum of China in Beijing on Nov 21, showcasing more than 200 cultural relics including painted pottery, stone tools and carbonized rice.
