Play highlights construction in China's central and western regions

The pillars of a great power: Moon on the East Mountain, a play reflecting development strategy in central and western regions will premiere at the National Theatre of China on June 11. The play will also tour two southwestern cities.

The play tells the story of the struggle and dedication of the young people such as Qin Hanchuan and Du Zhong who gave up the superior conditions of the big city and became involved in the "Third Front" construction in Deyang, Sichuan province.

The "Third Front" construction refers to the large-scale construction of national defense, science and technology, industry and transportation infrastructure in 13 provinces and autonomous regions in central and western China since 1964.
