Hongqiao Art Center was built on Tianshan Cinema, one of the most famous theatres in western Shanghai. It is now a comprehensive cultural facility integrating theatre, film screening, and cultural and art exhibitions. The center has become a new cultural landmark of the Changning district.
The center consists of a thousand-seat theatre, seven special effects movie auditoria and several activity spaces. The theatre has a total of 1,001 fixed seats, is equipped with advanced lighting and acoustic equipment, and is suitable for musical performances, dramas, gala shows, operas and many other forms of theatrical arts.
