Chinese alien visas, as well as stay and residence permits held by foreigners shall be reissued due to damage or loss after foreigners enter China.

New visas are generally available for pickup within seven working days of your application, if application documents are complete and pass approval.

What to do

1.Submit the original valid passport and visa for examination.
2.Prepare the original and copy of the Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors (issued by the hotel or the police substation of the area where the lodging takes place).
3. Submit the Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form completely filled up and one recent 2-inch, half-length photo showing the applicant's full face. Photos with hats or anything covering the applicant's heads will not be accepted.
4. Submit the certificates conforming to the origin of application.
(1) If alien visas, stay or residence permits were lost or stolen, applicants should submit the report of loss of passport or the official document from the embassy or consulate of his/her home country in China;
(2) If alien visas, stay or residence permits were damaged, applicants should present the damaged passport or the official document from the embassy or consulate of his/her home country in China;
(3) If group visas were lost, stolen or damaged, applicants should submit a copy of the group visa and certificate letter from the local host travel agency (qualification certificate of the travel agency is needed in case of necessity);
5. Applicants should submit relevant application documents in accordance with the requirements of list of information, according to cause of stay.

Please be reminded

1. If exit-entry administrative organization under the public security organ considers it necessary and requires an interview with the applicant or that the applicant submits other supplementary materials, but the applicant fails to undergo the interview or submit the materials at/during the appointed time/period, the application will be deemed canceled, unless there are unforeseeable circumstances (force majeure).
2.Decisions made by the exit-entry administration on rejecting applications for visa extension or reissuance, on not issuing foreigners' stay or residence permits, or on not extending the duration of residence shall be final.
