Accessing the archives:

Foreign organizations or individuals need to present a Letter of Introduction from China's pertinent governing institution, with a clear statement of the applicant's identity, purpose, and scope of target archives. The application needs to be submitted 30 days in advance, except for searches of personal or family historical documents. Only with permission of the Qinghai Provincial Archives is access allowed to open archives.
