Located at Kaiping, Guangdong province, Kaiping Diaolou and Villages is a vernacular sight visible from everywhere in the city.
The Kaiping Diaolou is a multi-story tower-style building which integrates defense, residential areas and Chinese and western architecture. It is a carrier of the city’s economic and cultural development, as well as the history of the wars in which people were protecting their homes.
The Kaiping Diaolou was added to the list on June 27, 2007.
