Pingtan aims to build itself into a cross-Straits base for re-export trade, e-commerce, and business service industries. The authorities endeavor to roll out a series of preferential policies to attract Taiwan enterprises, large multinational enterprises and large-sized transnational corporations to establish operation branches in Pingtan.
